To attract new talent, maximize the potential of existing employees, and prepare the company for the future. To achieve this, Emil Frey was searching for a reliable learning partner. Need for development, but fragmented L&D options
Emil Frey had a clear mission: to create a structured and centralized learning platform for their 1,900 employees across various subsidiaries. With a diverse team across sales and aftersales, there was no consistent, unified approach to learning and development.
“That’s what we wanted to change,” says Sandy de Lange, “to secure work processes, support the personal and professional growth of our employees, and support smooth onboarding for new hires.”
The new platform needed to keep work processes running smoothly and help employees grow. It also had to work well with existing systems and be flexible enough to offer training tailored to the different subsidiaries. One important requirement was that employees could log in through the employee portal. The platform also needed to match the company’s branding. In short, the organization wanted one strong solution that would make learning easy, efficient, and fully connected.

In 2019, Emil Frey launched the ‘Emil Frey Academy’ on Studytube, giving employees access to:

“This is something we could never have provided on our own,” says Sandy.

The impact of Studytube’s implementation was felt right away. Sandy explains: “The first learning path was rated an 8.4. That gave us the confidence to roll it out more widely. This is how we approach things: start small, adjust where needed, and then scale up.”
A major area of cost savings for Emil Frey Netherlands is the onboarding of new employees, which now takes much less time. Sandy: ‘’Studytube helps you encourage employees to take initiative in their own learning.’’
The system is also very easy to use. “With just a short introduction, anyone can create their own training. That makes a real impact!,” says Sandy. Another big plus: the admin workload has been surprisingly low. “And it’s super helpful that Studytube answers most user questions straight away.”
Looking ahead: integrate learning across the full HR journey
The next step for Emil Frey is to make learning an even stronger part of the organisation. This includes assessing employee skills during the recruitment phase and reviewing them regularly. The aim is to integrate this into the HR cycle, making learning a core part of how the company operates.
