Saving €1 million and enabling more employees to learn? Here’s how Adecco achieved it with Studytube
Adecco is a leading staffing agency with 1,000 internal employees and no less than 30,000 temporary workers. At this successful agency, talent development revolves around the “Sweet Spot”: where (temporary) employees work towards both their personal ambitions and their employer’s business goals. This makes them happier and enables them to deliver value for longer. Driven by this vision, Adecco now supports both its employees and temporary workers not across three separate learning systems, but within one central learning platform: Studytube. The result? Significant time and cost savings.

Since 2017, Adecco has been using Studytube to support:
- Onboarding temporary workers
- Personal development
- Knowledge sharing
- Upskilling & reskilling
The results:
- 88% of employees now actively work on their personal development
- €1 million saved thanks to time savings
- €10,000 increase in the ROI of the training budget
- €20,000 saved thanks to automated invoicing
These impressive results didn’t happen overnight. We spoke with Franciska van Pinxteren, Program Manager for Talent Development at Adecco, to learn how the company combined its existing three platforms into one central learning environment with Studytube. And all without losing any functionalities or control.
From a fragmented L&D organisation to an all-in-one learning platform
At Adecco, everything revolves around the “Sweet Spot”: the point where employees work towards both their personal ambitions and their employer’s business goals. This concept is at the heart of its vision for talent development, which is built on two key pillars: the 70-20-10 learning model and a three-phase learning approach (onboarding, growth, and career exploration).
To bring this vision to life, Adecco previously used three different platforms: a Learning Management System for internal staff, an online training platform for temporary workers, and a system for purchasing external courses. This created major challenges in terms of user management and keeping learning content relevant and up to date.
Franciska van Pinxteren: “We had little insight into the development of our employees. On top of that, it was extremely inconvenient and time-consuming to manage all those platforms at once.”
That’s why the company started looking for a single, centralised solution that was not only user-friendly but also allowed it to design and manage its own training programs.
Studytube’s solution: one central place for all learning needs with tailored learning content
8,000 courses, one platform
At the end of 2017, Adecco implemented Studytube’s all-in-one learning platform as the central solution for all its learning needs. With the platform, Adecco gained immediate access to an extensive library of 8,000 courses, which are carefully curated and monitored by the purchasing department.
A tailor-made Academy for every target group
To achieve maximum impact, Adecco set up a dedicated Academy within the platform for each target group. For internal employees, it developed various learning paths that align with the three learning phases and the 70-20-10 model. These learning paths combine a well-thought-out mix of online courses, classroom sessions, and practical assignments, creating an optimal learning experience.
Smart digital onboarding modules for maximum productivity
For onboarding temporary workers, Adecco uses Studytube’s user-friendly Authoring Tool with AI co-pilot. This enables them to create customised digital onboarding modules that help new employees get up to speed quickly. The platform’s flexibility makes it easy to update and modify content, while existing learning materials can be easily incorporated into the modules.
Franciska: “Studytube’s platform evolves with the times, works intuitively, and is flexible in its setup.”
Learning paths for all employees, relevant and up-to-date learning offerings, and substantial financial benefits
500 bookings per month: “Now everyone wants a learning path.”
Two years since its implementation at Adecco, the impact of Studytube’s platform is clearly measurable. The term ‘learning path’ has been adopted across the company, which is reflected in impressive results: 88% of internal employees now actively work on their personal development through the platform. As Franciska explains: “We book about 500 courses per month. Now everyone wants a learning path.”
ROI up, costs down: the financial impact of Studytube
The consolidation into one central platform has also resulted in significant financial benefits. Adecco has realised €1 million in cost savings so far, thanks to the time savings from using Studytube. In addition, the ROI of the training budget has increased by €10,000, and the automated invoicing service has delivered a further €20,000 in savings.
More insight, less administration
“The great thing is that we finally have real insight into everyone’s learning curve,” Franciska says. “We can see exactly who has learned what and which certificates have been achieved. And because the purchasing process and financial handling of training are now fully automated, our procurement team saves an enormous amount of time.”
Simplified content management for a future-proof learning offering
Managing learning content has also become more efficient for Adecco. Existing learning materials can be easily incorporated into the platform, and the Authoring Tool helps Adecco quickly develop new training. This has not only simplified content management processes, but it also ensures that the learning content remains up to date and relevant.
The future is about learning: how Adecco continues to develop
For Adecco, consolidating three systems into the Studytube platform marks an important step in its journey as a learning organisation. The wide range of learning paths for both employees and temporary workers fully aligns with their Sweet Spot philosophy. Nevertheless, the team sees plenty of room for growth in the future.
“We want our managers to encourage and motivate their team members even more,” says Franciska. “Only then can we all continue to learn and develop from the Sweet Spot.”Do you want to streamline your learning processes and achieve significant time and cost savings like Adecco?
